This might just seem to be
a union of art lovers and enthusiasts. And yes do not think that it would
mostly be students eager to learn art and fill in their creative illustrations
with lovely colours. But rather it was a three generation affair all pouring in to have
some tips and insights on abstract art .
1,103 students at Lisa J
Mails Elementary School along with their parents, grandparents and community members took part in the art
sessions conducted by fifth grade teacher Mary Eskridge. The whole concept of
the world record was intended to celebrate art and enjoy the difference art
makes in our lives. Eskridge was
honoured as the Teacher of the year in Murrieta Valley Unified School District.
Eskridge added that teaching the art lesson was indeed a challenge as it
involved the entire student body.
The Principal Mutchnick- Jayx said that art stood
more of paramount importance even more satisfying than a world record.
The abstract art was
created on a 12x18 piece drawing paper. The art lesson lasted 30 minutes as dozens of volunteer supervisors
verified that the participants were engaged in the lesson. The current
record was set in September 2011 by 879 participants at a school in
London. Just over 1,000 students attend Lisa J. Mails Elementary, a visual
and performing arts-emphasis school. The students
displayed their creativity by colouring with crayons.ASB President Zachary said
that it was a day to make history together.
The largest art lesson counted to 1,103 students set by Murrieta High
School at Murrieta, California, United States of America on March 11,2012.
