Golden Speckled Egg gets the Midas Effect

You might be aware of the $100000 most expensive   Easter egg   but now London Based Chocolatier William Curley   is a proud world record holder for crafting the luxurious chocolate egg that has been tipped out on auction. The priceless egg has been christened as the ‘Golden Speckled Egg’   during Faberge’s Big egg Hunt. The Egg weighed 110 pound  and was  made by Curley and team  to perfection. This contemporary and stylish chocolate egg was bought by the technology investor Cyrus Vandrevala for $10,000.
The makers, William and Suzue Curley haven’t compromised on flavor of this egg, as they made it with the Amadei chocolate from the Chuao region of Venezuela, one of the world’s finest and famous chocolates. To handcraft this sweet monolith, seven of the top skilled chocolatiers at the William Curley’s Twickenham production kitchen took total of three days. Filled with the Curley favorites, the winner of gold awards from the Academy of Chocolate, including Japanese black vinegar, toasted sesame, muscovado caramel, rosemary and olive oil and juniper berry and cassis, this Golden Speckled Egg is also accented with edible gold leaf.
Gordon Innes, CEO   London & Partners, the capital’s promotional organization, said: "London & Partners is delighted to be working with The Faberge Big Egg Hunt, which is raising money for charities Action for Children and Elephant Family. Their stunning eggs dotted around London over the last month have enthralled us all. Our multi-record breaking World Record London shines a spotlight on the many exciting special events and attractions that visitors can experience while visiting London this year. There has never been a better time to come to the capital.
The Most Expensive Chocolate Egg weighed 110 pound and was set William Curley at London, United Kingdom on March 26, 2012.

Choco Prints

We suggest this news   is too sweet and mouth watering to read. You could get diabetic   and may   start having a   chocolate craze   all over again. A chocolate printer that allows sweet lovers to create their own custom-made 3D treats is to go on sale at a cost of £2,500.
The machine squirts out chocolate and, via computer instructions, allows the user to build any shape they like out of the food. Dr Hao   from the University of Exeter   has been the brain behind this creation. Dr. Liang Hao   came up with this wonder piece   last year and  the device was subjection to a series of upgradation  to be termed completely perfect  at this stage.
Dr. Hao was learnt to have told BBC that the device   has been improved and simplified   so it becomes really nice and comfortable to   use it now. He also added that   one needs to melt a chocolate,   fill a syringe that  should be stored in the printer .If this is done  get the  creative printing  of your chocolate is ready.
3D printing is a technology where a three dimensional object is created by building up successive layers of material. The technology is already used in industry to produce plastic and metal products, but this is the first time the principles have been applied to chocolate.  Dr Hao said: 'What makes this technology special is that users will be able to design and make their own products.  'From reproducing the shape of a child's favourite   toy to a friend's face, the possibilities are endless.'  'There is also no wastage as any spoilage can be eaten.  Dr Hao added: 'Eventually we may see many mass-produced products replaced by unique designs created by the customer.   EPSRC chief executive Professor Dave Delpy  said that this is an imaginative application of two developing technologies and a good example of how creative research can be applied to create new manufacturing and retail ideas.
It is hoped the device, which starts at £2,500, will sell over 1,000 units over the next three years - primarily to users in the catering industry.
There had been a lot of research work that   had to go through in the process. Chocolate is not an easy material to work with because it requires accurate heating and cooling cycles. These variables then have to be integrated with the correct flow rates for the 3D printing process. Researchers overcame these difficulties with the development of new temperature and heating control systems.
The First Chocolate Printer was set by the Choco Edge Printer  founded by Dr. Liang Hao At Exeter University in Exeter , Devon, United Kingdom on April 16, 2012.

Giant Ice Cream Sundae Creation

Napoleon High School students have a picnic every spring, but that   year   they went on a record setting propaganda. The   students derived the motivation behind setting the record   from their physics and chemistry teacher Michael Kelly. Napoleon High School students  led by Kelly  assembled and ate a 160-foot ice cream sundae - setting the new world record for the Longest ice cream sundae, while raising funds for the school's Christmas Giving program, which provides holiday food baskets for the needy in Napoleon.
The previous world record for the longest ice cream sundae  measured 46.99 meters (154 ft,2 inches)  which was set by Turner Community Library  and Turner Recreation  Commission  at Turner Community Library in  Wyandotte, Kansas, United States of America.  Kelley also assembled 160 feet of eaves trough and propped it up on desks behind the school. The trough was lined with aluminum foil and then students filled it end-to-end with scoops from 22 gallons of ice cream donated by Napoleon's Borchardt Brothers Market. It had some yummy chocolate and strawberry   syrup   and whipped cream as a topping. It looked so attractive   that it appeared ready enough to be devoured by the onlookers.
Kelley derived the inspiration to create the biggest ice cream sundae   from his school days as a eighth grader in the Northwest Community School way back in 1974.  During those times they were required to construct only a 100ft sundae  as that was considered to be a record about 30 to 40 years ago. And having broken the 100 ft record in 1974  it was touted as a  huge achievement  in those olden times. No doubt Kelley has   his roots on making huge ice cream sundaes and breaking them off by surpassing  previous records set in those respective categories. Even today as a teacher himself he seems to have possessed the same old boyish excitement of making a big  ice cream  so big enough that it sets as a new benchmark by itself.
So here comes a man who is so very smitten and inspired making ice creams that  he constantly looks for  raising the bar himself. He is besotted by the sundaes  from his school days itself.
The longest ice cream measured 160 ft  and was set by  Napoleon High School  students and teacher Michael Kelley  outside the school at Napoleon, Michigan, United States of America  on May 5,2012.

Hot Cross Bun Goes Huge

It was their chance to beat the current world record - and staff and visitors at Saltholme wildlife reserve were only too happy to oblige. The Teesside centre was the final leg of a journey which saw the world’s largest hot cross bun come to Teesside. Baked in Bolton at Greenhalgh’s - the only bakery in the country with a big enough oven to cope with the breadth of the 8ft creation - the bun was unveiled to a cheering crowd. To beat the existing record, the bun had to weigh more than 105kg - or 16.5 stones. The RSPB have unveiled a giant hot cross bun at its Saltholme wildlife reserve   weighing a whopping 169 kg, it sets the new world record for the Largest hot cross bun.  The bun contained   over 145 lbs of flour   and measured a gigantic  size when it got its finishing touches.
The Saltholme reserve, a beautiful wetland retreat in the heart of Teesside, hosted the grand unveiling of the record-breaking bun, after it was transported from Greenhalgh's bakery in Bolton, the only bakery in the UK with an oven big enough to accommodate the giant tin. Weighing the equivalent of 2,300 regular hot cross buns, the World's Largest Hot Cross Bun was baked in a custom-made tin that is due to be reused as a birdbath at the RSPB Head quarters once local residents have eaten  the Easter Treat.
A hot cross bun is a sweet, spiced bun made with currants or raisins and marked with a cross on the top which is traditionally eaten on Good Friday.   The bun took a team of five professional bakers a whole day to prepare and make, with over 65 kg of flour and enough currents to stretch to the top of Nelson's column if laid out.
Ben Calvert the Visitors and  Promotions Officer  said    that they weren't sure about setting the record  minute  but  eventually  broke   it as well.  Calvert felt hard to believe and commented that the taste was amazing  .

Greenhalgh's  Production Director, David Smart, added: 'As a family craft bakery we are used to hand crafting delicious bespoke items but this was one of the most unusual requests yet. We were delighted to be tested on such a large scale and to help achieve a notable World Record whilst assisting a worthwhile charity.
The Largest Hot Cross Bun weighed 169 Kg and was set by RSPB Saltholme at Saltholme, United Kingdom on April 5, 2012.

Ice cream Sundae Gets a Mega Effect from Webster Students and Staff

Webster University has delivered a  wonder this time. And this time it  has got to do with  everyone’s   favourite. The previous record stood to 152.2 ft.   Webster  blew that sad little junior sundae out of the water with its 200.3 foot ice cream sundae, which was  built on the university's quad.
This epic and delicious event was the kick-off to Webster's annual Spring Fest.  Lauren Douglass, the programme   manager was urged to take the full scoop out  to display the mammoth record breaking  ice cream  sundae story to the crowd. Webster University students and staff prepared an 200.3 foot ice cream sundae - setting the new world record for the Longest Ice Cream Dessert. The record-breaking sundae included 456 pounds of vanilla ice cream, eight pounds of cherries and fourteen pounds of rainbow sprinkles. With more than 80 volunteers scooping and sprinkling away, the record was broken in less than 30 minutes.  Minnick's Surveying provided the official measurement of 200.3 feet and served as official witnesses alongside Hannah Ingram of the Opera Theatre of St. Louis.
The entire bunch of   onlookers  were controlling their temptation   only to   pounced upon after the official measurements. The   whole bunch of ice cream lovers   swarmed upon the delicious looking sundae  with spoons and bowls in hand.
The campus activities group at Webster has made giant sundaes in the past, so they weren't strangers to the world of over-sized desserts, but this was definitely the largest attempted in the college's history. Set-up for the sugarcoated event began at 11 a.m. on Wednesday, March 12, and construction of the colossal sundae began at noon. With more than 80 volunteers scooping and sprinkling away, the record was broken in less than 30 minutes. Minnick's Surveying provided the official measurement of 200.3 feet and served as official witnesses alongside Hannah Ingram of the Opera Theatre of St. Louis.
The largest ice cream sundae measured 200.3 ft and was set by the students and staff of Webster University at St Louis, Missouri, United States of America on April 17,2012.

Lollipop Gets a Tower Effect

See’s Candies celebrated National lollipop Day on a   massive scale. Kids would have got an excellent treat to their eyes   and might have gone ballistic at the very thought of eating it. Thanks to   See’s Candies   for having created   a larger than life version   of our favourite candy on a stick. The enormous candy is made with all the same ingredients as Sees' goodies, but it won't be eaten. Instead it will be recycled after spending some time on display. See’s Candies   unveiled   the 7000 pound lollipop  in the city of San Francisco.
They celebrated the National Lollipop Day  by giving away the  gourmet lollypops  at over 200 retail shops across the United States. The previous record for the largest lollipop was made by Jolly Rancher and weighed at 4,016 pounds and measured 62.8 inches in diameter (over 5 feet square) and 18.9 inches thick. See's Candies CEO Brad Kinstler  expressed tremendous happiness  of achieving the feat. In 2009 Ashrita Furman had created a lollipop which weighed 6514   pounds . The See’s Candies Lollipop erected at Justin Herman Plaza  shatters both the previous records by a god margin.
So guys if you are hoping for a hunk then you better console yourselves as   the candy giant would be  dispersed for recycling purpose after a  few days  of display. Kinstler added that  this accomplishment was  the finest testament  of the capability  of the production team. The team had spent hours  in constructing and designing the largest lollypop. And they were eager to showcase their record breaking feat to the customers on the National Lollypop Day.
The largest lollypop  weighed 7000 pounds and was set by See’s Candies  at san Francisco, California, United States of America on July 19,2012.

Miami Dade Students Serve The Largest Guacamole

Culinary students   at South Dade Senior High, John A. Ferguson Senior High, Robert Morgan Senior High and Homestead Senior High had a good day out in the kitchen. They had a platform to display their culinary skills which they did not do in a mediocre way but in a   grand way. They prepared a gigantic Guacamole   that weighed 4114 pounds   to set the world amazes at the largest Guacamole ever delivered till date. The previous record for the largest Guacamole  serving  which weighed 4011 pounds was  surpassed  by the current record  by over 100 pounds more.
The team of high school students and chefs   combined skills and creativity   to mix the largest serving of Guacamole.  The event, called the Holy Moly Redland Guacamole Celebration, at Schnelby Winery in Redland   raised money for the culinary programme at John A. Fergusson, Robert Morgan, and Homestead High Schools.

Guacamole is an avocado-based dip which originated in Mexico. Guacamole was originally made by the Aztecs by mashing ripe avocados with a molcajete  (mortar and pestle) and adding tomatoes and salt. The ingredients into the recipe are as follows Ripe avocados, tomatoes, onions, lime or lemon juice, and salt are common to most recipes. Lime juice is added for flavor, and to slow the enzyme causing browning. Other common ingredients include cilantro (coriander), black pepper, jalapenos, garlic, etc.
It took about 500 pounds of tomatoes, 100 pounds of mayonnaise, 500 limes and 3,500 pounds of avocados. The ingredients were donated by Fresh King Farms and the Krome family groves.
The   largest Guacamole serving was weighed   and certified by the state’s weights and measures division. Some students juiced limes. Others pealed and squashed avocados. A few mixed the ingredients together. They worked until they filled a 13-gallon bucket with guacamole. Then they dumped it into a giant dumpster-looking cooler to be weighed. Chef Allen Susser   Chef of   Allen Restaurant ,  Chef Michael Schwartz of  Michael Genuine Food and Drink,  Chef Darren Lee of  Intercontinental West Miami Hotel   and Chef Giancarla Bodoni  (Escopazzo Miami Beach) were each assigned one of four local high schools with culinary programs -- South Dade Senior High, John A. Ferguson Senior High, Robert Morgan Senior High and Homestead Senior High -- to help them break the record.

Fresh King co-owner Peter Schnebly, his wife and Fresh King co-owner Denisse Serge, and high school agriculture teacher Will Dukes developed the three-day “Holy Moly Redland Guacamole Celebration” — which also featured avocado recipe competitions, food, music and dancing — to generate money for area high school culinary and agricultural programs and to increase awareness for Florida’s green skin avocados.

Peter Schnebly said he plans to sponsor the festival annually. This year’s event attracted 1,000 people, much more than the 300-400 attendees organizers expected.

The fundraiser made about $4,800 from the finished guacamole that was sold to benefit the schools. Schnebly also wants to use funds generated by the event to start a culinary institute in the Redlands area of Homestead and Florida City to train south Florida high school and college students.
The largest serving of  Guacamole  weighed  4114 pounds and was set by  Miami Dade Students at Homestead, Florida,United States of America on October 18, 2009.

Hottest Chilly could set your tongue afire

Warning   This news could be too hot to read. You may even end up sweating because the what we are going to tell you is a good spicy tale. Control your adrenaline as we reveal the news  to you. The fiery spice has made many eyes water, face sweat  and mouth gasping for more water.
Workers at The Chilly Factory at New South Wales  are harvesting a huge crop  of what they claim to be the hottest chilly on earth. According to the report  in the  Australian Geographic  the Trinidad Scorpion Butch T registers a taste bud   melting 1463700 on the Scoville  scale. Jalapenos  usually  register  between 2500 and 5000  units  by comparison. The previous record  for the hottest chilly was held by Naga viper  Pepper which had  registered a spice  value of 1382118 on the scoville  scale.
Marcel de Wit, co-owner of The Chili Factory  is reported to have said that  the chilly is just too wicked. He felt so because Marcel and his team had to wear gloves  while they handled the fiery flesh. Also they had to wear  chemical masks and suits while actually cooking the spice. Biochemical food expert Professor Barbara Santich from the University of Adelaide is not surprised that chillies were readily adopted in those locales. Marcel began cultivating the Trinidad Scorpion Butch T two years ago after Neil Smith, who runs The Hippy Seed Company, gave him one of the new chillies to try. The chillies are too scorching than ever.
The "Trinidad Scorpion Butch T Chili" registers more than 1.4 million units on a heat scale. A jalapeno, as used in Tabasco sauce, contains about 5000 Scoville heat units; a bird's eye chilly   packs between 50,000 and 100,000.   The men said the secret to developing the world's hottest pepper lies in the fertilizer. They use something called "worm juice" which is liquid run-off from a worm farm.
A sauce containing 58 per cent Trinidad Scorpion Butch T chilly, and called Scorpion Strike, was planned to be   launched at the Royal Easter Show.
The name Butch T or Butch T is after Butch Taylor. Butch is the owner of  Zydeco Hot Sauce  and person credited with originally discovering this strain. Butch was growing out the Jonah strain, noticed a pod variation and saved the seed. He’s been sharing the seeds for a few years. When sending out seeds Butch would include his first name last initial (common when swapping seeds) on the seed package.
The Hottest Chilly  was set by ‘ The Trinidad Scorpion Butch’  at Moisset, New South Wales, Australia on April 15, 2011.

Longest BLT Sandwich doled out by Windsor Culinary Students

Another sandwich story comes up as a good literary toast on your breakfast table. If you are hungry then the students of the Windsor high School ‘s culinary programme would be serving  their long and ambitious  BLT Sandwich. The students from the Windsor High School of Culinary Arts put together 146 ft long BLT Sandwich thus demonstrating their culinary skills to the world. The budding Chefs in the making displayed some foodie creativity to surprise many onlookers during the event.  The sandwich fest was part of the summertime Windsor Farmers Market, which celebrated the seventh Annual Tomato and Pepper Festival.
Marie Ganister the director   of the culinary programme prepared her students for the final task. As she was overseeing the operations she was convinced that the length of the BLT was as long as she could see either side. Then she instructed her students to close the sandwich after getting satisfied about the dimensions.  At $5 a slice, the potential history-maker served as a fund-raiser for the 160-student culinary program.
Windsor Town Councilman Sam Salmon   took a bite   of the BLT and was delighted by its yummy taste. He was impressed with the sandwich as he liked the lettuce, tomatoes and good bread. The BLT sandwich happens to be a craze for many because of the crisp bacon, voluptuous Mayonnaise, juicy tomatoes, refreshing lettuce and fragrant toasted bread   all of which make the recipe just too irresistible. The 7th Annual Tomato and Pepper Festival got a refreshed booster   with the assistance of   Windsor and El Molino High School  Culinary Arts  students.
The Longest BLT sandwich measured 146 ft and was set by the students of Windsor High School Culinary Arts at Windsor, California, United States of America on September 8, 2008.

Bradley County Pink Tomato Fesival gets a the Largest BLT Sandwich as a new Guest

The residents of Bradley County decided to don a   Chef’s cap and gloves.  This time it was not for the mere purpose of cooking alone but to display your cookery skills before the world. The   residents set a world record. And   what was the recipe that made the venture an   instant hit. They made the largest BLT Sandwich. Do not be puzzled by the letters BLT. The letters mean bacon, lettuce and tomatoes. All the three ingredients would make a sandwich just too yummy to resist eating it.
They prepared a 169 ft long sandwich by adding 60 pounds of sliced Bradley  tomatoes, 300 pounds of Arkansas Tyson Bacon and 80 pounds of lettuce. The sandwich took nearly two hours to build and contained about 300 pounds of bacon, 80 pounds of lettuce, 60 pounds of tomatoes and 220 ounces of mayonnaise.
The Bradley County Tomato Festival  is one of the oldest continuous festivals in the state of Arkansas. During the festival  everyone get together to dance happily on the streets. The festival has something concrete to satisfy everyone. It has shopping, food, games , music and you name anything it has got to be a part of the celebration there. Farmers in Bradley County have been raising tomatoes for sale since the 1920s. They chose a variety of tomato that would ship well if picked when the tops of the fruit just barely turned pink. In 1956, a group of Warren merchants decided to host an event to celebrate the tomato industry and to help promote business in the area. The Bradley County Pink Tomato Festival was born. It has since become a major summertime event.
David King the director of the chamber of Commerce said that Arkansas deserved to be famous for the largest BLT  more than anything else. King added that if a culinary school could set a record  taking a tomatoes connection then Arkansas which is touted to be the Tomato capital of the world should certainly have a world record to boast highlighting on Tomatoes. This feeling steered them to work towards the record  and accomplish it successfully.
They actually planned for 160 ft  but since they had  the tables for 9 ft  more they stretched the length of the BLT Sandwich also .The final output measured a staggering 169 ft. King challenged that if anyone wanted to break their record then they need to go still farther ahead. The chamber sold some of the record sandwich in 6-inch segments after it was completed. David King said the record also helped bolster the 53rd annual Bradley County Pink Tomato Festival.  Bradley County Cooperative Extension Service Family and Consumer Science Agent Michelle Carter, one of the volunteers, said she would remember being a part of the record.
The Largest BLT Sandwich measured 169 ft and was set by the residents of  Bradley county  at Warren, Arkansas, United States of America on July 1, 2009.

Longest Ham Slice Sandwich

A butcher has set a new world record by cutting the longest slice of ham. And using the single slice of ham, the cook made a 130,90 ft long bar snack known locally as a 'pincho'. We sold the sandwich at one Euro per portion and gave the money to charity.
And just like a true professional butcher he perfectly cut  and carved a  19.8 meter long slice of Parma ham And this was the highlight of the world record attempt. As we all know butcher is the person who cuts meat and sells them. Here Nico  Jimenez  was so well adept in his trade that he cut the 19.8  meter long ham slice effortlessly  and set it as a master piece. One needs to know one’s craft so well to have   gained  so much perfection. The  slice was then dressed to be made into a ham sandwich.
The world record attempt was sponsored Juan Bonal Foundation .Jimenez’s long slice of ham measuring around  20 meters  easily scripted its way into the world record books. The crafty butcher, cook earned  many accolades  for his expertise in his craft.
The longest slice of ham not only made heads turn  amazed at Jimenez’s feat but also  was successful in raising sufficient money for  noble causes. The revenues that chipped in through the sale of the ham sandwiches were pumped towards charitable   work.
The longest ham sandwich measured 130,90 ft and the  ham slice measured  19.8 meters was set  by Nico Jimenez at Pamplona, Spain on October 30, 2009.

Moore cooks the Largest Open Sandwich for his City

Tommy Moore and Moore’s Ole Tyme   Barbeque makes it in Ripley’s Believe It or Not! New Bern barbecue master Tommy Moore achieved a World record  for the largest open Sandwich  which weighed a whopping 1336 pounds  after it was heaped with barbecue and slaw. Moore’s masterpiece was baked in a specially designed 10-foot-square oven engineered by Glenn Snader.
A crowd estimated at better than 2,500 formed a ring around the tent that housed the oven and bun at Union Point Park. They cheered loudly as the weight was announced, increasing with the unloading of each tub of barbecue and slaw by a 30-member Bun Crew. Moore helped smooth the toppings, using a paddle that was about the size of a boat oar. After the huge sandwich was weighed, the crew began to shovel the ingredients into plates and served portions to everyone in the crowd. Linda Staunch of the New Bern 300th team said 2,000 plates were available and all were used, with hundreds more getting their serving on napkins.
The first to get their serving of the mega open sandwich were the military members  of the Navy. Moore was more than glad to serve them as he  voiced it right that the military forces serve us every day and  expressed his intention to serve them the meal  on this occasion.
Gov. Bev Perdue of New Bern was on hand, congratulating Moore with providing a free lunch for the town and making this a great Independence Day in New Bern. She then pitched in and helped serve trays to the servicemen and later to people in the crowd.
Hector Torres moved to New Bern three months ago from New York and as he finished his barbecue plate, he said Sunday’s event was just another in a series of pleasant experiences he has had in his short time in town. He also added that   the people there  were polite  and nice. Betty Thomas who handled the marketing for the world record said the criteria included that Moore make a sandwich which weighed more than 1000 pounds and above all be edible to eat.
The bun-making included using 561 pounds of dough made up of 350 pounds of flour, 10 gallons of milk and 17 gallons of water. The 1,015-pound bun cooked for six and a half hours at 300 degrees. And of course by adding the 300 pound barbecue the sandwich got qualified to be a world record. Moore paid for all the expenses involved in the project, but dedicated the effort to the city of New Bern. Moore said that a  city does not comprise of mere bricks and mortar. What constitutes a city is the presence of  the finest people around. He was very happy that  he received a huge outpour and got the best response ever. He thanked the people who came in there to show their support to him in his record attempt. Moore said that the people’s support was the  proof in the  pudding  to depict the  goodness of the city of New Bern.
The Largest open Sandwich   weighed 1336 pounds and was  set by Tommy Moore at New Bern, North Carolina, United States of America on July 10, 2010.

Longest Pizza

A   successful world record attempt  is an effective tool to garner sufficient publicity  and raise funds for a noble cause. And staging world records demonstrating   culinary recipes  could  well be a runaway hit. We believe even the chefs at Magillo Pizzeria would agree this. After all   they displayed   one of the   world’s most loved recipe   the pizza to highlight their  objective. The Chefs from Magillo Pizzeria used 3.5 ton  of flour to make a 1,000m (1093 yards)-long pizza which sets the new world record for the  longest pizza.
The Magillo Pizzeria’s Pizza   was so long enough that it outwitted the  previous record which measured just 407 meters. As per the World Record Norms it was required that the pizza be one single piece to be determined as the longest pizza . It should not be  comprised of small individual pieces.
Polish actress Ewa  Blaszczyk had founded a charity called Akogo Charity way back in 2002. The charity mainly helps children suffering from severe brain injuries. The foundation also supports their families - and aims to fund a new rehabilitation clinic. The proceeds from the world record attempt would directly go the charity for assisting people in comas.
This meant cooking together for a good cause. The money raised would come of great use to the affected children and families. This would give them a second chance in life. The money would be utilized for their treatment  to better their existing health  condition.
The Longest Pizza measured  1000 meters and was set by the Chefs of Mazillo Pizzeria at Krakow, Poland on August 30,2010.

SubWay Sandwiches get Gagaover the Mc Donald Stores

The Subway sandwich chain has surpassed McDonald's Corp. as the world's largest restaurant chain in terms of units. If the numbers are to believed then  Figures in the US reveal Subway has 33,749 restaurants across 95 countries - against 33,737 run by McDonald's – Subway   setting the new world record for the Largest fast-food chain. Therefore Sub Way seemed to have outnumbered Mc Donald  by short margin of 12 stores more.
Like McDonald's, Subway's global growth is based on a franchise model - where businesses pay to run a Subway restaurant and are given marketing support by the organization. Tony Pace was delighted and said that the  organization has been on a high and said all the franchisees are under the company’s umbrella. In recent years, US-based Subway has made a major push into international markets with its successful franchised  business model, which emphasizes small, low-cost outlets.
Subway, established in 1965, has restaurants in 95 countries. Now there is even a Subway at Bagram Airbase in  Afghanistan. They first ventured outside North America when a store opened in the small Middle Eastern island nation of Bahrain in   December 1984. Don Fertman said that  SubWay  expected to  its number of international restaurants  to exceed  its domestic ones by  2020.  As the chain of    restaurants are all franchisee owned   has been the cause for some of its success. Its smaller format store  has always stressed on cost efficiency  and operated  more than other restaurants.
The sandwich chain had outnumbered the burger giants in the number of  stores but however not in terms of revenue.  McDonald's, however, remains the industry's revenue champion, with US$24 billion (S$30.4 billion) in revenue for its last fiscal year.   Subway generated roughly $15.2 billion, according to a report by the Wall Street Journal. Subway, which is based Milford, Connecticut.
The Largest Fast Food chain of 33749 stores  in 95 countries was set by SubWay  at Milford, Connecticut, United States  of America on March 18, 2011.

Longest BLT Sandwich

If you are making something huge then you even have to be a bit careful apart from being ambitious. Representatives from Red Sun Greenhouse Vegetables, Dole Fresh Vegetables and Farmland Foods put together a 209 foot-long BLT (bacon, lettuce and tomato) sandwich at this year's AWG Spring Tradeshow .
The volunteers assembled the sandwich with seven  cases of dole leaf lettuce  and 750 pounds of red tomatoes. The  previous world  record for  the largest open sandwich  was a barbecue  pork bun  which weighed 606.45 Kg  and was prepared by Moore’s BBQ  in New Bern, North Carolina, United States of America .
Dave Leiker, Associate’s director of produce for Kansas City said   that  It took 14 people 42 minutes to build the World's Largest BLT sandwich at the Associated Wholesale Grocers  Spring Food Show in Kansas .   Harold Parivarinta   director of Sales Red Sun   admitted   that  the idea was hatched  as it initially started out as a contest as to who could make the  best tasting BLT Sandwich. But then they realized that it would be pretty hard to judge a standalone   culinary creation. So they set out to make   3300 slices  to put in the BLT Sandwich. The finishing touch was 15 pounds of Red Sun cherry tomatoes, which were attached to the top of the sandwich with toothpicks. Just in time for lunch, and after the measurements were taken, the sandwich was cut into pieces and show attendees donated money to the Muscular Dystrophy Association to get a piece of the tasty action.
Sabrina Pokomandy   the marketing manager of  Red Sun said that apart from staging the world record the company  would happily donate $1000   to the Muscular Dystrophy Association.
The Longest BLT Sandwich measured 309 ft in length and was set by  Associate Wholesale Grocers  at Kansas City, United States of America on June 11, 2011.
