Giant Pop Corn Treat

We would really love to munch pop corns while watching a film. Noble Pop Corn Farm comes up with truck loads of pop corns which would not only last for a film but  for the whole year. Billions of Americans and many people from around the world  madly love this grain.  It was an event for the fun loving people of Sac City  who had gathered at Noble Pop Corn Farms. Two Hundred thirty volunteers, five staff members of Noble Popcorn Farms and numerous cheerleaders built a popcorn ball that weighed 5,000 pounds to promote popcorn and to create a tourism attraction for the community. The ball surpasses the old Records of 3,423 pounds.
This is Sac County's third World's Largest Popcorn Ball. In April of 1995, they built a 2,225-pound popcorn ball to secure the title which was later outdone by Boy Scouts  in the September month of that year. Then Illinois based pop corn factory built a 3423  pounds  ball which held the crown until the current one  washed away the honour from the Illinois pop corn factory.
The second culinary delight was housed in its own building near the city's museum complex, creating an attraction for everyone to enjoy as they passed by on U.S. Highway 20.. The idea to promote one of Sac County's oldest products - popcorn - and to re-create a massive ball became a culinary, mathematical and laborious challenge. The recipe was perfected and prototypes built. And then the fun began at the Noble Popcorn plant in Sac City. Since the plant is famous for its Cedar Creek flavored popcorn, it seemed the perfect setting for a task such as this. At 7 a.m., the first group of rubber gloved clad volunteers began the task of melting the sugar and syrup, popping the corn and packing the steamy popcorn mixture into a round egg like shape. Twelve hours and forty minutes after the first batch was cooked, exhausted volunteers and staff celebrated their success with a massive ball weighing 5,000 pounds and standing over 8 feet tall. The ball also measures 28.8 feet in circumference.
Martin the plant manager  reported that  group used 1500 lbs of pop corns, 2400 lbs of sugar  and 1100 lbs of  dry syrup mixed  with water. They punched and carved the ball into shape as it got stickier with every pack. The crowd turned jubilant when the final weight was announced.  The popcorn is heated to 260 degrees so you have to get your hands really oiled up so the popcorn doesn't stick to your hands. Hundreds had gathered to help create the monster  masterpiece. Considering that 2300 people live in Sac city   each would get 2 pounds of pop corn ball.
David Engel a volunteer commented that  everybody got together to make the pop corns stick to form the ball shape and that was  the special aspect of coming from a small town. The pop corn ball   became a mass publicity stunt and was successful in attracting tourists to this small town.
The Largest pop corn ball weighed 5000 lb and was set by Noble Pop Corn Factory at Sac City, Iowa, United States of America on March 2 , 2009.
