Santas on a Zip Slide

Zip  line   consist of a pulley   suspended on a cable usually made of stainless steel   mounted on a ice line. It is designed to enable a user   propelled   by gravity to travel  from the top to the bottom line  of the inclined cable  by holding on to  or attaching to the freely moving pulley. A Zip line is also popularly referred as a flying fox. A zip slide organized by Hallam FM   got the much needed attention as   the radio station had organized the event infusing the Christmas   flavor as the  festival was round the corner. This helped garner   a lot of crowd who had come to watch and   many  participants  flooded in dressed as Christmas Grandpa  to take on the adventure. We must give a thumbs up to the dedication of all participants as the weather proved too hostile for them .It was excruciatingly chill and that did not deter the performers to zip slide  at the Magna .
The zip slide was 70 ft in height   and covered a distance of   250 ft   amidst   all the hullaballoo   and cold  climate.  The 42 daring go getters   dropped down the 70 ft   high zip slide   within an hour   mustering all their   courage, will and enthusiasm  for raising funds for deprived children. Then hundreds of people inspired by the other participants   also went down on the slide and were more than happy to do so for helping the disadvantaged kids.
Kids born in well to do families are showered with many  toys all round the year but there are  thousands of kids born in poor families who do not have a single toy to play with. The programme was particularly aimed at helping those deserving kids by raising funds and gifting them with toys on the occasion of Christmas. So this was were Hallam FM was targeting  at as they nurtured the desire to restore smiles on the  faces of those kids .This was the true essence of festive celebration  in which you ensure that not only you but the entire community is also happy.
Hallam FM   had come up with Cash for Kids   programme which helps many  poor  local  kids  who are ill, disabled or in  to deep poverty .And with every passing year the event looks out to reach more and more   kids  in the future. The annual Toy appeal  at  Hallam FM looks for collecting toys   and gifts   from the local community and give them to the disadvantaged kids who do not have any toys.  Everyone who took part in the world record attempt was sponsored and all money raised will go towards   Hallam FM’s   Cash for Kids, the new name for Help A Hallam Child which supports disadvantaged children in South Yorkshire and the North Midlands.
The most   number of Santas  zip sliding counted to 42 in an hour at Rotherham , United Kingdom on December 7,2008.
