Thiruvananthapuram. The Hotel which has
set exceptional standards of luxury, elegance and modern world convenience has a powerful presence in the hospitality
sector.
So this record of the
Largest Christmas cake is coming from the makers of the Largest Sandwich. Uday
Samudra has definitely got in to the habit of presenting anything they do on a larger than
life basis so this one was no new task for them.
The Large Christmas
cake stood at 30 ft tall, weighed 2500
Kg and had a width of 2 ft making it irresistible for all the cake lovers around
the world. The huge cake was the result of the hard work put in by 10
chefs and their associates for a good
three weeks. The ingredients in the
cake included 200 kg white flour, 120 Kg sugar, 1500 Kg of egg mix and 50 Kg of
Dry fruits.
And if the grapevine is to
believed hotel authorities claim that their cake has overtaken the previous record
of the Largest Christmas Cake which
measured just 27.6 ft set by a hotel in
Bangkok.
Rajagopala Iyer the Corporate Director of Uday
Samudra expressed hope that the hotel
was confident of making it to the world
of records and even sighted a possibility of health officials to come and examine it.
For people who
were vying to lay their hands on this
yummy pudding need to hold on .The hotel
has massive plans to cut the giant cake in to 22,000 pieces out of which 12,000 pieces were to be distributed to 12 charitable societies and the remaining was planned to be
offered to the public for a price.
Apart
from record-breaking feat this gigantic cake also symbolizes abundance and Christmas is all about abundance
of joy, happiness and prosperity.
The
Largest Christmas cake measured 30 ft in height and was set by Uday Samudra at
Thiruvananthapuram, Kerala on December 24, 2007.
