The 50th
annual Kiwanis Annual Pancake Feed went off in style by making into the world records. One of the
volunteers Mary Ann Berg along with other line of volunteers worked
with an hot grill preparing
pancakes at the Pancake feed at Fargo
Civic Center. Especially Americans would go out of their way to eat pancakes
and may be even over eat them. So
start starving yourself in anticipation and see if you can help the citizens of
Fargo in their quest to break their own pancake-eating world record at the
Annual Kiwanis Pancake Carnival.
A
record 34,818 pancakes came off grills surpassing the previous mark of 30,724
pancakes. The Pancake feed is the largest fund raiser for the Kiwanis Club raking
on an average $30,000 every year. Grillers flipped flapjacks and
served them with sausages and orange juice for most of the day until they more
than surpassed the 30,724 pancakes served in 2002 by the Lubbock, Texas, Lions
Club. When the figures were
tallied the organizers felt it was worth because it meant the
world record coming in at their golden jubilee celebrations.
Personally I think this beats those "world's
largest" records, because at least it doesn't seem like a huge waste of
food. On the downside, I'd hate to be there for cleanup duty. What do you guys
think of this pancake feeding frenzy? The guys have beaten the Lubbock
Lions Club by more than 4000 pancakes. So pancake lovers would have never
missed such an opportunity in their life time. And with so much of response
coming in the money collected by raining hot pan cakes goes towards charities as well .
This proved that Kiwanis Club were the largest Pancake Feed
in the world. The Largest Pancake Feed counted to 34,818 pan cakes and was set
by Kiwanis Club at Fargo Civic Center, North Dakota United States of America on February 12, 2008.
