Here
is some recipe that could take a long
time to prepare but could make you have
enough bites to infuse extra bytes of
energy. We request our diabetic folks to not go loose on the crunchy pie as it is wholly made of rice. So for health
reasons you may opt for a limited indulgence in having the rice krispies treat.
The
volunteers at Community Center of La Canada Flintridge dished out
a 10,460 pounds Rice krispies
treat. The krispies were unveiled during the carnival fundraiser for the children's art program at the La Canada Flintridge Community Center.
The current record for the largest rice krispies crushed
the previous record which weighed a paltry 2,500 pounds. This means that the
current one broke the previous one by more than four times in terms of the weight. Hundreds of
volunteers came together to make the
krispies as it took more than 48 hours
to erect such a huge food delight. Food scientist Ted Russin,
a San Diego chef and engineer Scott Stuckel helped
with the project to make sure the finished product was edible, tasty and
structurally sound.
Once
it was weighed and measured, pieces of the gigantic dessert were auctioned off
to raise more money for the community center. To balance costs for the center,
a number of utilities and items used for the fundraiser were donated, including
the supplies for the Rice Krispies treat, the booths and the food. 5,000 pounds of Rice Krispies
was donated by Kellogg's and 7,000 pounds of marshmallows were used. Each
marshmallow at the top weighed about three pounds. The center netted about $5000 after expenses. The event got a huge support
from the community and a great turn out.
The Largest Rice Krunchies weighed 10,470 pounds and was set by La Canada
Flintridge, California, United States of America on March 17,2010.
