Getting Nostalgic with Coke

The century old Coco Cola items   housed in the   Schmidt museum   are up for grabs. The collectibles include antique delivery trucks, rare serving trays, side of barns unique bottles, jewellery   and large posters .The Schmidt museum dates its birth to its founders Bill and Jane Schmidt in the year 1977.  We tell how it all began for them. The Schmidt couple owned   a coke bottling plant .As Jane Schmidt puts it as a big portion of their lives have gone collecting  these artistic pieces  since 1972  and that has taken the collection to mount so big. In all the museum boasts of 80,000 items worth   as much as $10 million.
The collectors had the least thought of accumulating the largest private collection. They only harbored an aim to  make it a story and put it to display. The museum has slammed the previous record  of the largest Coco Cola Memorabilia which counted to 945 different items   set by Rebecca Flores in United States of America. The Schmidt museum   holds Coco Cola  items way back since  1800 and the ware house totals to 32,000 square  ft. The huge collection of the Coco Cola memorabilia   is the result of the family’s four generation long association with the soft drink giant. The reason for the couple to become avid collectors  is because Coco Cola has been  a part of the family business too. In 1901, Frederick Schmidt became only the fifth Coca-Cola bottler in the nation when he opened a plant in Louisville, Kentucky.  In 1920, the franchise, which covered much of Kentucky and parts of Southern Indiana, was split into three areas with Luke Schmidt, Bill's father, taking over the Elizabethtown operations. Larry Schmidt, Bill's son, became the fourth-generation president when he took over in the mid-1990s.  The Schmidts   later sold the franchise while the museum has remained.
Now the Schmidt family intends to sell their proud   collectibles   thus giving an opportunity for others to keep the collection alive. Further also to prove to everyone the way it had been showcased all these years and they could also do the way they deem fit. The family has established a foundation  were the  collectibles would be auctioned to others and the proceeds of which would be utilized by the family for benevolent purposes.
The Largest Collection of Coco Cola memorabilia counted to 80,000 items and was set by the Schmidt Museum in Elizabeth Town, Kentucky,United States of America on May 13,2011.
