Sick about Sick Bags

Do not get a feverish feeling   after reading our post title please. But   gather your inquisitiveness to read through the exciting story we are telling you. In what   was   took off as a casual bet with a friend could lead you into the hall of world records. Niek Vermeulen   takes all the honours to do that and we share his success story with you.
The 74 year old Dutchman   has accumulated 6,016 bags from 1,142 different airlines over the past more than 40 years. So if some people are collecting stamps, coins   then it isn’t a  bad to  collect  barf bags either. We would now say   how Niek got inspired when he was bitten by this collection bug.
One day, Niek was using a sick bag to scribble down expenses during a flight and had the bag in his briefcase with him. The idea for his collection was born. Niek and his family embarked sometimes over international flights each year, harvesting sickbags along the way. Friends also aid Niek by bringing him any unusual barf bag specimens they come across in their travels. His favorite bag is an airsickness bag from the NASA space shuttle Columbia which spent 16 days in space. Niek is not new to the world of collection records. Apart from this he also holds the   record of having collected 1,200 airline playing cards  which  is the largest of its kind and belongs to the top ten in the world.
The owner of the Largest Collection of sick bags has started feeling to call it a shot. The septuagenarian   has become physically weak and his health condition  is not very stable. Hence this has prompted him to look out for a good successor who can rightfully inherit   his large collection and may be even collect more to keep  Niek’s legacy alive.
The Largest collection of Sick Bags counted to 6,016 bags  from 1,142 airlines and was set by Niek  Vermeulen at Wormerveer, Holland on Match 24,2011.
