One could enjoy fine cuisine prepared with fresh, locally grown herbs, meats and produce. Union Snyder Habitat and Victoria Pub worked in close partnership to dish out 15 pounds of bacon and 175 wraps held together by 1200 toothpicks. And this turned out to be a 102 ft long sandwich wrap. The wrap was being wrapped by all the people simultaneously

The sandwich wrap event
was held on the grounds at
Victoria’s in Lewisburg. It brought out a good crowd for a noble
cause. The objective was to raise money to build affordable housing to local
families. Housing is an essentially basic right for mankind. On the same
grounds like the other two necessities food and clothing housing also is
crucial for a civilized and balanced
mankind habitat.
Tom Rambo the president of the Habitat said
that they wanted a event which would help them reach out to the
needs of the community. The goal of the world record event organized by Union
Snyder Habitat was to impart good, quality and at the same time affordable
living for the people at the same time the
help benefits the entire community at large.
Breaking
Ground, Breaking Records is intended to promote Habitat partnerships and raise
awareness and support for the organization. Proceeds from the event will be
used to build safe, affordable homes for local families in need. Rambo admitted
that many local Businesses stepped up to
support the event which was carried out
in partnership with Union Snyder and
Habitat. Rambo further added that the event was a reality because of the cooperation
and backing of sponsorships of local businesses who also harbor and nurture the mission of the Habitat. He specially thanked Vic's Pub, Blaise Alexander
Ford, SUN Orthopedic Group, the Son's Power, CITGO, and Susquehanna Valley
Hearing Professionals for being sponsors of the event. Habitat's goal is to fulfill the dream of home
ownership with simple, basic homes for families in need. The organization has
partnered with 18 families since it was founded in 1991. The rules read out that the families
must be able to pay a no-interest mortgage and commit to 250 hours of
"sweat equity, by helping with construction of their own home and working
on future affiliate projects. They also must complete a home ownership course. It costs about $80,000 to build a
Habitat home. Families pay back Habitat through interest-free mortgages, and
payments are put in the Fund for Humanity or future home construction. Volunteers complete the
majority of the labor to build the home.
