Tractor Living to its name

Bullies are found in Schools and Colleges but the entire class does not  comprise of bullies. May be a few of them   would find it funny  to show their air of authority on other innocent  pupils. Here we are going to talk about one such bulley but  this one is not the bad one.  He stands tall  and is large enough  to be called the largest farm tractor. So this guy is a friend for the farmer. The guy  in the discussion is none other than ‘Big Bud’ the biggest farm tractor  uniquely made of size measuring 28 ½  ft in length, 21 ft in width. The makers of Big Bud  are the Northern Manufacturing Company  who are not making such mammoth sized tractors anymore and hence only  Big Bud which  is one of its kind pertaining to size has won the show for the largest farm tractor.
It was commissioned by the Rossi Brothers, for their cotton farm, in Bakersfield, California. The main purpose of Big Bud was deep ripping, and it did the job for 11 years, until in moved to another farm, in Florida. The real name goes as Big Bud 747  which was built in Havre, Montana by Ron Harmon in 1977 of the Northern Manufacturing Company.
The cost of the giant tractor was 300000 $.Let us take a technical  preview of the tractor. The largest tractor has a 16 cylinder   behemoth  powered by a 24.1 liters Detroit V16 92Turbo engine delivering 900hp. It has 6 forward and 1 reverse gear  driving all the eight foot tall wheels. With hydraulic powered steering and air brakes, similar to those on a semi, and a 1000 gallon diesel tank with a 150 gallon hydraulic reservoir tank, Big Bud is big enough and has the endurance for any job.  It has come with a massive potential and therefore has the capacity to perform work almost equaling its size too. The tractor also boasts of 1100 horse power  and can handle any equipment with ease. All this truck load of efficiency comes at relatively lower fuel cost. Do not be under an impression that as Big Bud is doing heavy tasks with more power  would involve greater amount of fuel. The  tractor is too generous to  not consume exceeded levels of fuel and only takes up to a very reasonable limit unlike other heavy high powered vehicles in its class. There is also hardly any stress on the drive train.

After leaving the farm of its first owners Rossi Brothers Big Bud found  its new way  Indlantic, Florida. The second owners, Willowbrook Farms, also used the tractor for deep ripping purposes. Willowbrook Farms retired the Big Bud and left it to rest.
But that was not the end of the road for this huge illustrious farm worker. It did not hang its boots but rather   found its way back home in Montana   in the year 1997 only 60 miles  from where it was originally built to be put to use even today. It is owned by William Brothers of Big Sandy   who have a farm in Choteau County.  Even now it  is still used for pulling a 80 ft wide plough. So you can see with its   larger than life capacity Big Bud is the most sought after giant tractors even today. The largest tractor  can work more than one acre per minute, at speeds up to 8 mph. Except its new paint job, chrome stacks, and a whopping 900 plus horsepower - the Big Bud looks like it did when it rolled out of the Northern Manufacturing Company building back in 1977. If the work that it is doing was not enough Big Bud is also a crowd puller. People from all over the world   come to see it. And if they are lucky   they may also get a good ride on it. Heartland Acres   an agricultural exhibition   had planned to house Big Bud   for the next couple of months.
The Largest farm tractor measured   28½ feet long, 14 feet high, 21 feet wide and has a wheel base of 16 ½ feet;  weighs in at 45 tons was set by Big Bud Tractor in Big Sandy , Montana, United States of America on April 12, 2010.
