Most Number of People Dressed as Story Book Characters

If kids are fascinated about reading books then they can as well bring them to life too. Story books enrich the vocabulary of kids, widen their thinking horizons and make them see life from a larger perspective. We think this  might  have been the plan of  Chiswick House School  students. A total of 453 story book characters came back to life and it was like the illusionary world of books got a real feel.
The former record counted to 359 characters and was set by Higham Ferrers Junior School, of Northants, United Kingdom.  School principal Patrick Tabone said the aim of the event was not simply to break an existing record, but, more importantly, to excite the children about books and reading, as well as increase their appreciation of literature.
A range of characters were chosen from over 60 books from Maltese and English children's literature. Throughout the scholastic year, in preparation for this event, teachers worked hard to introduce new authors and books to the children at all levels. All the children were encouraged to read the books of the character they represented.
The world record was the highlight of the intensive literary programme conducted by the school. The Alice in Wonderland, Rapunzel,  Harry potter and so many other children classic novels all came to life with this event. Even the children’s favourite artwork related to the stories  they read were also presented during the record event.
The most number of persons dressed as story book characters counted to 453 and was set by Chiswick House School at San Gwann, Malta on June 14, 2011.

Most People Dressed as Sunflowers

Every child is a blooming flower. That is for the deeper sense in child psychology. Here we have pupils dressed themselves as sunflowers to prove the point. 229 pupils and staff at Thorndown Infant and Junior Schools in St Ives dressed up as sunflowers.
The previous world record for the most people dressed as sunflowers counted to a paltry 116 set at the Nursery on the Green in London.
The school business manager Helen Cooper came up with the idea to go for the world record after verifying the fact that such an attempt like this one was never registered before in the world record books. Pupils and staff created their own sunflower head-dresses and green trousers handmade by parents and grandparents
The sale of the trousers helped raise £260 which would go to the Children’s Liver Disease Foundation.
The most number of people dressed as sunflowers counted to 229 and was set by the students of Thorndown Infant and Junior School in St Ives, Cambridgeshire, United Kingdom on July 21, 2011.

Most Number of Costume Riders in a Theme Park

An entertainment arena gets a complete zombie effect. And seeing all the zombies together you could feel like you are into a Halloween party. The Dorney Park and Wild Water Kingdom features eight roller coaster rides  and many other adult and children rides. There is also a water park and a wild water kingdom too. So if you are to check in there you have to be ready to capture all the excitement.
At  Dorney park over thousands of zombies swarmed on the rides to raise their levels of amusement even further. All of them got dressed in the zombies costume character only to take the adventure rides and set the world record for the most costumed characters in the theme park. It was as though the entire park was made for zombies only.
The former world record for the most costumed riders on the theme park ride counted to 330 park visitors of Dorney Park and Wild water in Pennsylvania. It proved that Dorney park smashed their own record by a huge margin. Thus the horror related zombie craze was created in an environment which was meant only for fun to rule over the atmosphere.
Jason Meehan founder and director of the Asbury Park-based New Jersey concluded that the Zombie phenomena seems to take over the vampire craze  which was inspired by the movie Zombieland.
The most number of costume riders on a theme park ride counted to over thousands and was set in Dorney Park and Wild Water Kingdom at Pennsylvania, United States of America on September 5, 2011.

Most Participants Blowing Conch Shells

We have heard the sound of conch shells in temples. The sound is loud and gives out an auspicious and pious feeling within the moment we hear it. They are used as wind instruments prepared by cutting a  hole in the spire of the shell near the apex .Then as the air is blown into the shell the sound  would appear as though  it were a trumpet sound.
Many enthusiasts gathered at Sundowners restaurant  to refine their blowing skills.  A bunch of hundred and twenty  seven persons came fully prepared  to blow conch shells simultaneously. And there were no age restrictions either to stage the record attempt. Many elderly persons, and children came in armed with conch shells. So everybody out there were only excited to create a world record so the age did not seem to bother them at all.

The 127 persons took deep   breaths to reenergize and oxidize themselves for the record. They blew the shells to create a loud  sound. Oldest International Football Ground

A certificate well received and deserved during the under 21 game. But all the accolades is thanks to lifelong Wrexham FC fan Glyn Davies who actually made an effort to get the old soccer ground noticed to the world record   organizations. The stadium has a 200-year history as a sporting venue. WREXHAM’S Racecourse ground is officially the oldest soccer stadium in the world still hosting international games.   The first international at the Racecourse was held in 1877, with Wales losing 2-0 to Scotland.
Mr Davies of Wrexham FC  Collectors and History Society  said that  it was  a great news . The ground ahs  a huge history in store and there were another couple of clubs who were trying to lay claim to the title but the Racecourse beats them both by more than 20 years.
Davies said that it was a huge task. He had to first  prove that the venue was being used for internationals. Around that time there were not much matches scheduled in the ground and hence Davies had to write to the Football Association of Wales  to get their support in this regard. And with that  in hand he was able to get the approval from  the world record authorities. The Football Association Of Wales confirmed that Racecourse was still being used for international matches. It was held that the Racecourse was indeed the oldest international football ground.
The aptly-named Racecourse was initially known as a horse racing venue, and staged its first contest - the Town Purse - in 1807.At the time it offered a prize of 20 guineas, worth about £3,600 today. After about 50 years, the races were stopped amid concerns that they encouraged crowd trouble, including drunkenness.
In the 1860s, the venue began to be used for autumn sports, including donkey races and cycle races.
As well as horse racing, the Racecourse was also used by Wrexham Cricket Club, and it was the club's members who formed Wrexham Football Club in 1872 as a way of keeping active during the winter months. Research shows the football club was formed in the now famous Turf Hotel, which stands just outside the ground and where historians say players used to change for matches.
The first international football match was held five years later in 1877, when Wales lost 2-0 to Scotland.
The following year, however, Wrexham FC won the first ever Welsh cup.
Wrexham FC now has plans to form its own property development company and wants to develop land around the stadium, including a new stand at the Kop End of the ground.
The ground's new official status as a record holder has received recognition in the Welsh assembly chamber.
Wrexham AM Lesley Griffiths tabled a statement of opinion at the Senedd. Griffith stated that it was a wonderful achievement and applauded  the  excellent piece of detective work carried out by Davies in this matter.
The  oldest international football ground  which is more than a  century old was set by the Wrexham’s Racecourse at Wrexham, United kingdom on June 18, 2008.

Longest Five a Side Football Match

A group of soccer players created history. Yes  they smashed their way to success. We are saying about the bunch of 16 players  who scripted the world record  at the longest Five a Side football match  during a  tournament organized by the LITTLE League Sports. The league  provides sporting activities for children and young people  across Merseyside.
The world record for the longest five-a-side football marathon is 33 hr 30 min by members of Youghal United AFC in Ireland.
The aim of the organizers was originally to break the existing world record of 35 hours. Coincidentally, at the same time as the Liverpool event, a separate world record breaking attempt was being held in Newcastle- upon-Tyne, which saw the bar raised to 40 hours.
This meant the organizers had to increase their own target to 41 hours, which they did.

The players worked in rotation to keep playing continuously, with some playing for as long as six hours without a break.

They were divided into blue and red teams, with the final score 1022-1072 to the reds.

The players battled through rainy weather and fatigue to reach the target.
The LLS Directors  Joe Mulhearn  said that  the event would help them raise funds  to put on free sporting events  for schools. The competition  was aimed to be a record breaking effort  and that added value to their publicity. Mulhearn added that their achievement  should stand longer than the previous records.
The longest five a side football match  lasted for 41 hours and was set by Little League Sports at Liverpool, united Kingdom on May 26,2011.
