Most Number of People Dressed as Story Book Characters

If kids are fascinated about reading books then they can as well bring them to life too. Story books enrich the vocabulary of kids, widen their thinking horizons and make them see life from a larger perspective. We think this  might  have been the plan of  Chiswick House School  students. A total of 453 story book characters came back to life and it was like the illusionary world of books got a real feel.
The former record counted to 359 characters and was set by Higham Ferrers Junior School, of Northants, United Kingdom.  School principal Patrick Tabone said the aim of the event was not simply to break an existing record, but, more importantly, to excite the children about books and reading, as well as increase their appreciation of literature.
A range of characters were chosen from over 60 books from Maltese and English children's literature. Throughout the scholastic year, in preparation for this event, teachers worked hard to introduce new authors and books to the children at all levels. All the children were encouraged to read the books of the character they represented.
The world record was the highlight of the intensive literary programme conducted by the school. The Alice in Wonderland, Rapunzel,  Harry potter and so many other children classic novels all came to life with this event. Even the children’s favourite artwork related to the stories  they read were also presented during the record event.
The most number of persons dressed as story book characters counted to 453 and was set by Chiswick House School at San Gwann, Malta on June 14, 2011.
