They danced a conga
to end up creating an astounding feat. The students and staff of Bicton
College took part in a charity fund raising event to outperform all the previous performances. As much as 208 persons gathered wearing
waltzers to set a new world record.
The Welly Wednesday
is a part of the welly week which is a national fund raising event launched by
the Royal Agriculture Benevolent Institution. Bicton College saw students from
all disciplines including Equine Studies, Animal Care, Horticulture,
Countryside Agriculture and Outdoor Leisure all had turned up to join the
College staff and students to form the Conga. The College adopts sound
principles in implementing improved environment performance.
The groups across
England and Wales would be organizing and supporting Welly events to help the
farming community. RABI provides care and support to farmers, farm workers by
helping them in the times of crisis. They help people by working with them
sensitively by claiming pension credits and other state entitlements.
The Longest Conga of people wearing wellies counted to 208 students and staff of Bicton College in Devon, United
Kingdom on October 28, 2008.
