Longest Game of Futsal


Futsal means indoor football. The game of Football is played  on a relatively smaller pitch unlike soccer which is played in the open in a  large ground. Futsal is played between two teams of five players each, one of whom is the goal keeper. The Bethel College men's soccer team played futsal non-stop for 35 hours in Gates Gymnasium located on Bethel's  campus setting the world record for the largest game of Futsal.
The previous world record for the largest game of futsal  lasted for 32 hours  20  minutes  and was achieved  at the gym of Centro de Educação Integrada School in Natal, Brazil. Thiago Pinto Head of Men’s Soccer Team Head  Coach of Bethel Men’s Soccer Team said that the purpose of the event  was to raise money for a mission trip  to Brazil. Further it was also to continue to fulfill the mission of soccer which was like glorifying GOD by playing  well, serving  good and celebrating with pride.
Futsal is form of indoor soccer that is played in over 100 countries around the world and is played on a basketball-sized court. It is played with a special "low-bounce" ball, which requires each player to use more skills and quicker reflexes.

  Bethel College is an accredited Christian college offering associate, bachelor's and master's degrees in more than 70 areas of study. 

   The current enrollment of more than 2,100 includes students from 34 states and Puerto Rico, 19 countries, more than 25 denominations and 16 percent from culturally diverse backgrounds.
Pinto was very happy and  said that he was very happy  that the guys had won in a  competitive environment.
The   Longest game of futsal lasted for 35 hours at gates Gymnasium, Bethel’s campus, Mishawaka, Indiana, United States of America on April 14, 2011.
