Record Breaking Cookie Treat by Woodrush Studentas

Youngsters at a Wythall school proved they were smart cookies after completing a towering challenge. Pupils as well as staff from Woodrush High School have broken the world record for the tallest cookie tower.  The students and staff of Woodrush High School   created   a 1.89 meter  cookie tower  using a total of 11,500 cookies  thus having set the record of  the world’s   first sweet tower. The previous record for the tallest cookie tower measured 1.83 meters in height  and was set by Girls Scouts  of Nassau County at Roosevelt Field Mall, Garden city  in New York in the year 2010.
Sue Taylor a teacher from Woodrush School   declared that they had bet the record   by a difference of   0.06 meters in two years time. They successfully finished the task of erecting the tower within Eight to Nine hours   by arranging all   11,500 cookies  which were donated  generously by Tesco. Taylor added that  the aim of the record was to get the students inspired and interested in math, science and engineering principles  while constructing the tower.
Here comes a record which has educational  intentions behind it. A very practical approach  attempted  to gather life skills set as well as understand the fundamentals of scientific and mathematical concepts  by actually  figuring out things realistically. This  method of educations gets more deep impact  into the mind  and there are brighter chances  to retain the concepts learnt in the mind  through such  methods for a  longer  time. The students would gain useful  hands on experience   through such learning models  and would be greatly benefitted  to tackle  real problems and handle situations.
The exercise was also a part of the National Science and Engineering Week  to get more students involved in  science and  Math.  The Woodrush school  and students were  doubly  benefitted by the whole idea. The students got a  good exposure to realistic learning and also  had a fortunate opportunity to be the participants of a world  record breaking event. This might have truly increased their level of zeal and enthusiasm  to achieve and work towards goals  in life. The school also has gained an advantage of  being the recipient  of a  world record breaking event. This would boost the impetus  and prospects of the school in the years to come.
The Tallest cookie tower measured 1.89 meters   and was set by the students and staff Woodrush High School, Wythall, Worcestershire, United Kingdom on March 22, 2012.
