Largest Dessert Party

If you were one of the 487 people eating something sweet this afternoon at Tanger Outlets in Riverhead, you've just eaten your way into history.  Janine Nebbons   Riverhead General Manager announced that Tanger Outlets succeeded in its quest to set a new world  record  for the largest dessert party. Tanger Factory   launched  the dessert party  to officially  mark  the company’s 30^th year in the business. As much as   6997 participants  took part in the event.

The previous  world  record for the largest toga party  counted to a mere 2166 participants  in Cottage Groove ,Oregon, United States of America. Tanger celebrated 30 years of great deals so at their outlet malls across the country, they gave away treats, trying to break the world record for the largest dessert party.  Tanger personnel and guests had gathered on the floor and Executive Boardroom of the New York Stock Exchange, at the company's headquarters in Greensboro, North Carolina. Tanger's center in Foley managed to consolidate into a single space 553 celebrants. The Tanger Outlet Center in San Marcos had originally planned to hold the event in a large tent in the parking lot, but due to a tumultuous storm that hit just hours before the event, the venue was moved to an inside location. Although the storm may have deterred a few participants, the San Marcos center still had an incredible turn out. Mayor Daniel Guerrero and CVB Executive Director Rebecca Ybarra Ramirez served as the Official Witnesses, along with the Chamber of Commerce Ambassadors serving as the Official Observers.

Tanger Factory Outlet Centers, Inc., (NYSE:SKT) is a publicly-traded REIT headquartered in Greensboro, North Carolina that operates and owns, or has ownership interests in, a portfolio of 34 upscale outlet shopping centers in 22 states coast-to-coast, totaling approximately 10.3 million square feet, leased to over 2,100 stores that are operated by more than 370 different brand name companies.   More than 160 million shoppers visit Tanger Outlet Centers annually.   Tanger, owner of 34 U.S. outlet centers, disclosed in its quarterly report filed with the Securities and Exchange Commission this week that it has contracted to buy three outlet centers for nearly $400 million in total.
