‘Dainik Bhaskar’
the newspaper daily made a
large impact with tea lovers like by
hosting a mass tea party. We are sure many tea fanatics
would have had a lovely time sipping every bit joyfully.
And the people of Indore got this wonderful opportunity of participating in the tea party. Brooke Bond
being the official brew we assume all
the guest would have got the best
tea having come from the pioneer tea
manufacturers of the century.
Almost 40000 persons
gathered at Nehru stadium in Indore to have
a serving of the steaming beverage. Aneil Mahajan head of Dainik Bhaskar said
that apart from the objective of achieving the world record for the
largest tea party he wanted the people to realize that by coming together they could do great things. He wanted people
to realize this fact under the pretext
of the tea party. The tea party was a success
because of the contribution of
980 volunteers who made 5000 liters of team with 2500 liters of milk and
water. About 250 kilograms of tea dust and sugar were used for making the tea.
After
the participants were treated to Bollywood hit numbers sung by popular singers,
volunteers started serving tea to the guests in designer cups. These cups were
later given as gifts to the participants as souvenirs. City residents who
couldn’t attend the event got to see it on local TV channels. The
fund-raising event was organized to support a participatory movement, where
citizens will take up plans, resources and implementation.
The tea party organized by ‘Dainik Bhaskar’ helped raise Rs 5 crore for city’s development. Indore mayor Umashashi Sharma and Ramesh Chandra Agarwal of the Dainik Bhaskar group received a certificate for the record amid an impressive show of fireworks and festivities. The Tea Board was the co-sponsor for the event along with Hindustan Unilever Ltd, which makes consumer goods.

14778 participants and was set on October 8,2006.
The
Largest Tea Party counted to about 40000 participants and was set by Dainik Bhaskar
at Nehru Stadium, Indore, Madhya Pradesh ,India on February 24, 2008.
