Ancaster High School danced their way to make history. And it was no ordinary dance . It
was the Macarena dance number that did the ,magic for them. A total of 1861
participants from Ancaster High School and neighbouring schools
gathered in the back field to dance
the Macarena together.
The Ancaster High
School (AHS) principal Judy
Langsner along with Karen Swift of the Canadian Diabetes Association to make AHS of the sites of the blue circle.
They wanted to eb a global symbol for diabetes.
And even the weather
bowed down to their efforts. It was a sunny day and it was easy to know the number of participants
dancing for the event. Simon Good acre the vice principal said that the
entire show was completely student driven and lauded the students efforts to make a world
record title happen for the school.
Goodacre credited the
students that it was totally their idea
and they all danced to the Macarena number a hit of the 1995 cult hit song.
The largest Macarena
dance counted to 1861 participants and was set by Ancaster High School at
Ancaster, Ontario, Canada on December 13, 2010.
