The thought of having a smoothie makes us all really happy. Anyone wishing to sample the
record-breaking drink can sample it for free if they head along to the college
in Westgate Fields, Chichester. The
hospitality and catering students at Chichester College made 1,280 liters of
smoothie using mountains of bananas, strawberries, yogurt and fruit juice
donated from suppliers around the area, as part of the Food and Travel festival
at Chichester College, setting
the new world record for the Largest smoothie. Household appliance company Kenwood kindly
provided the college with 20 food blenders so the ingredients could be
pulverized before being poured into a huge vat donated by Portsmouth Water.
Thomas
Eggar Solicitors confirmed that the record was broken with students producing 1280 liters of juicy concoction.
The world record bid was held as part of the college's Food and Travel Festival
which invited visitors to the Westgate Fields site to take a trip around the
world and taste foods from different countries and watch demonstrations by
chefs from the area. Chloe
Wilkinson said that the record breaking
effort involved a lot of hard work but
they all worked together as a team. He remarked that the entire experience was
good and at the same time was so demanding that he has no plans to peel a
banana soon.
The
previous world, record for the largest smoothie contained 1249.19 liters and was prepared by University of Illinois. This record was well crushed
by the Chichester students.
The
largest smoothie had a volume of 1280 liters and was set by Chichester College Students at Chichester, United Kingdom on May
