In times were people
fancy to shake a leg on a good film number or burn the dance floor with
a hip hop or disco we have a set of students
who not only learn science but take
science through the dance route as well. These bunch of passionate students
from Simon Fraser University performed a
mechanical boogie to celebrate the
Mechatronics student Union .
And doing a robotic
dance they ended up breaking world record as well. The previous world
record for the largest robotic dance was
set by united Kingdom University of
Kent where 276 android wannabes had gathered in
2007. The University of Melbourne could have ruled the roost by taking away the
record title but however were not able
to come up with the necessary documents authenticating their achievements.
Graham Hiscocks said
that the entire performance was stellar
as he helped through with organizing the largest robotic dance to
celebrate the Mechatronics Union.
The
electrified dance party was held at SFU's Convocation Mall, with enthusiastic
participants donning decorated cardboard boxes and other robotic costumes to
get into the spirit.
Put on by the Faculty of Applied Science Student Societies, the event was to help usher in the new Mechatronix Student Union.
It was a chance to blow off a little steam before the pressure of final exams kicks into high gear. It was also a way for the school's students union to welcome its newest member, the Mechatronix Student Union, from the school of applied science.
