Largest Zumba Class


Zumba is a Columbian dance fitness programme which involves dance and aerobic elements. Zumba’s choreography incorporates hip hop, salsa, mambo, martial arts. Zumba sessions are widely preferred by ladies too as one has to dance with fast and slow rhythms .It promotes a form of mental rejuvenation.
1,294 people participated in a Zumba class in Littlejohn Coliseum at Clemson University - setting the new world record for the Largest Zumba fitness class.
The previous world record for the Largest Zumba Class was held by the University of South Carolina, which partnered with Palmetto Health to host a Zumba class of 1,135 people.
Riley Csernica, co-founder and vice president of Acts of Campus Kindness said that the Clemson students were excited to be a part of this event as it was unique in every way. The event definitely promoted both school and community spirit and brought people of all ages together to take on the Gamecocks and have fun.
Campus Kindness was one of the sponserors of the event. According to Csernica, people came from as far away as Anderson, Greenville and even Charleston to participate in the event.

  Other sponsors for the event were Healthy Campus, the Division of Student Affairs, campus recreation, the Clemson University Marketing Association, CLEMSONLiVE and Tiger Town Graphics.
The Largest Zumba Dance counted to 1294 participants and was set by Clemson University at Clemson, South Carolina, United States of America on May 16,2011.
