Yes they did blow
their whistle to the tune of “America the Beautiful” and “God Bless America” in
honour of the Lehigh valley veterans. They had a dozens of Lehigh valley
veterans and with the help of the
Nazareth Area High School Wind Ensemble
the seventh and eighth graders sung their way to glory.
The 750 Nazareth
students whistled to create a new world record
for the Most number of people whistling simultaneously at a single venue.
The previous world record
for the most people whistling simultaneously at a single venue counted to 329
persons organized by the TMD Corporation
in Japan.
A 14 year old boy
Cameron Ohrwashel came up with this idea to break the record.He had started his
work the previous summer itself on various records the school could offer their assistance to the
task.
Prior
to the whistling, students attempted gathering donations from family members,
friends and others to benefit the Make-A-Wish Foundation of Greater
Pennsylvania, Pottsville Regional Office. Monique Ohrwashel said the goal was
to raise $1 per student for a total of $750.
Middle school Principal Robert Kern also applauded the efforts of the students and the idea to tie the record-breaking attempt in with Memorial Day.

The Most People whistling simultaneously counted 750 students
of Nazareth Area High School at Nazareth, Pennsylvania, United States of
America on May 30,2011.
