Largest Display of Artichokes

As artichoke production gears up for its spring peak, Ocean Mist Farms has begun its second sweepstakes for consumers. The promotion, dubbed Take Your   picture,  runs through the end of April. Castroville, Calif.-based Ocean Mist is inviting shoppers to photograph fresh artichokes on promotion in retail displays and in print or online ads. In support of this   Ocean Mist Farms and Rouses Supermarkets   worked together for building the world’s largest fresh artichoke display on at the Rouses Supermarkets store at 4500 Tchoupitoulas Street in New Orleans. They have teamed up  and used 20,000 fresh green globe  Ocean Mist farms  artichokes  to build a giant artichoke  display. There was also  a  256-square-foot Fleur-di-lis (artichoke-filled ornament suspended above the Giant artichoke.

Joe Watson Director of Produce Rouses Super Market said that after   a little bit of investigation they came to a conclusion that no record was previously attempted   on artichokes. Watson added that artichokes were a big part of the food culture  in New Orleans. In addition, Rouses showed shoppers how to clean and prepare an artichoke for cooking, and served “easy baked artichokes” with chipotle mayo. April marks the advent of spring were  one sees nature’s gifts in enormous bounty. Spring is the time when mother nature smiles  and bestows all her love on the living things  by  colouring the environment with wonderful flowers with lush greenery at the backdrop, the chirping of the birds, the sounds of the stream and  the rivers flowing. Spring season is naturally Nature’s time on earth.

With  the increase in fruits, flowers and vegetables and all pouring in one could only thing of a way to celebrate this abundance of  nature with  Mother Nature’s gifts to mankind. So what better way to say thank you  to Nature by  doing it with  her own  so generous  endowments.

The Largest Artichoke Display   counted to 20,000  fresh  green globe Ocean Mist Farms Artichokes and was set by Ocean Mist Farms and Rouses Super market at New Orleans, Louisiana, United States of America on April 26, 2012.
