The Arab Emirates could go to any extent to place themselves high on the popularity radar.World record events are not new to them and set breathtaking records to prove their mettel to the world.United Arab Emirates one of the fastest growing nations has always been high on spirits to showcase their talents and outperform their peers.Falcon Aviation Services LLC took it has a pride to stage a world record attempt to mark the National Day of the country.
Falcon Aviation Services LLC (FAS), a wholly owned company of HH Dr. Sheikh Sultan Bin Khalifa Al Nayhan, Member of the Executive Council, took to the skies over Abu Dhabi on UAE National Day to set a new world record for the largest aerial banner ever flown.
The aerial banner sported the United Arab Emirates flag and was clearly visible from up to 20 Km away .The flag was specifically designed to take the flag right across the capital making it clearly visible to the entire population of the city of AbuDhabi.The flag measured in excess of 50,000 square ft in size and was towed in to the air by Bell 412 helicopter .The Aircraft was supplied by Evergreen Helicopters who are the partners with Falcon Aviation Services.
The current record has surpassed the previous one held in Australia by IKEA which measured a mere 47,000 square ft.
The idea for the sky high celebration on UAE National Day came initially from HH Sheikh Sultan and the Chairman of FAS, Captain Salem Al Kayoumi, after FAS had initiated operations to conduct aerial banner towing as part of its growing aviation business.
The Falcon Aviation Service chief excitedly informed that this was the best way they could celebrate the Nation's Birthday by flaunting the National Flag not only to AbuDhabi and United Arab Emirates but also to the rest of the world.
The banner was supplied by Heli Banners, a UK based company who supply Aerial Banners for marketing purposes using the world wide patented Helicopter Overcity Banner System (HOBS) which enables these huge banners to be flown safely over built up areas. The HOBS system has undergone extensive evaluation by the UAE General Civil Aviation Authority (GCAA) who have assessed and approved the FAS aircraft.
The record breaking flight was jointly sponsored by FAS, Marina Mall and the Abu Dhabi International Marine and Sports Club (ADIMSC). In a joint response the sponsors concurred that this was yet another first for the UAE and they were all proud of their contribution towards developing an even greater sense of patriotism.
The Largest Aerial Banner was set by Falcon Aviation Services at AbuDhabi,United Arab Emirates on December 3,2007.
