Largest Monument ot the Turkey

A Honour to the Turkey Bird. The town of Frazee,Minnesota     proved that it is indeed the turkey capital of the world.Frazee city has created a huge Turkey statue named "Big Tom"  measuring 20 ft in height and 17 ft in width.  It weighs over 5,000 pounds, having 1,000 pounds of steel reinforcement. The legs were made a little shorter and stouter than a normal turkey to better handle the weight.
The original Largest monument to the Turkey was built on a metal frame and covered in cement, fiberglass, cardboard, and insulation. When it was finished in 1986, it stood 22 feet (6.7 m) tall and cost $20,000 to build, earning Frazee the title of "Home of the world's largest turkey."
The Big Tom's predecessor who was only little shorter was spruced up for the Annual Turkey festival in July 1998.Just days before the Banquet workers were adjusting the base  of the enormous fibreglass  bird when it caught fire  from the flame of the blowtorch. The entire turkey statue went up in smoke within just minutes and an impromptu bonfire set in.the culprits made best  of their blunder by printing TShirts  with the snap shot of the burning bird  and wrote the caption as " the Largest Turkey Roast"
As the currently installed one was already in to the order pipeline got installed within a few months after the disaster. After almost a year there was presence of carnage from the fire  evident on the ground. There have been many attempts to cover it up with straw   but then now even the latest entrant has to be a little nervous considering the past.
The Largest Turkey monument  was set by Frazee town in Frazee,Minnesota,United States of America on November 26,2009.
