A nice warm coat to bear the winter chill with some bouts of soup is all one needs to bat the cold weather.But here is a different story of sorts.Children and parishioners in Stockport have broken the world record for the largest coat, after a community knitting project; the coat is made up of nearly 8,000 knitted panels and measures 42ft 6in (13m) by 18ft 2in (5.5m) have set an all new benchmark.This was made as a project at St George church and Primary School.This clearly breaks the record held by a coat in Ukraine.
The youngsters have been taught how to knit by members of the church after a performance of Joseph and the Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat, based on the biblical story of Joseph and his "coat of many colours".
The huge coat would be eventually sent to Africa for making blankets for the poor.
The Church committee member exclaimed that they got a big response than expected as they had planned to have 3000 squares but in the process just kept growing and reached 8000 squares.
