Tallest Structure built with Lincoln Bags

This is something really different and would add your interest even further as you read through the lines. At the request of Community House of Arts in Ottawa (OTHS), the Technology Student Association of Ottawa High School designed and built a 10-foot, 11-inch (3.32 m) structure made of Lincoln Logs at Jeremiah Joe Coffee in downtown Ottawa.
Made of 2,995 pieces by the Community House of Arts of Ottawa (CHAOS), with the help of Ottawa Township High School's Technology Student Association and community donations, the structure proved to be a standalone entity in March 2010  at the downtown Ottawa Coffee Shop.
The officials at the community  house of arts felt the performance was terrific that involved the cooperation of the entire community. The Tallest Lincoln Log structure was new in the  record  category itself so the makers had to just surpass the minimum 10 ft benchmark to gain a record status.
ttawa Township High School seniors Jack Miller and Travis Walker designed the structure. Originally drawing up a six-by-six-foot walk-in structure, the duo scaled the project down to stay within their supply of logs and changed the goal from building the largest to the tallest. What arose from floor to ceiling replicated a standard plus-sign used in simple skyscrapers.Jack had conceptualised the structure originally and walker  modelled it on a 3D  program. Before actually getting down to build the official one the students were training themselves by building  three 8 ft trial structures for some hands on experience for the fianl mammoth task.
The structure was shaped to look like a 'plus' sign which was a bit easy to do.
While Walker watched the computer model come to life from the coffee shop, Miller stood on a ladder in the display window and built the structure piece-by-piece.They had their apprehensions on whether the structure would fall off as they saw it growing in size inch by inch.
Those in attendance gasped at each wobble and cheered when the structure reached the ceiling. With a goal of collecting 20,000 Lincoln Logs, community members supplied CHAOS with 18,159. Those logs were used for other structures built by the public and were added on to the record-setter.
The Tallest structure built with lincoln Logs was set by the Ottawa students  measuring 10 ft inches at Ottawa Coffee shop,Ottawa,Illinois,United States of America on April 19,2011
