Largest Concrete Gnome

Iowa State University's Reiman Gardens has now got a new giant visitor. The new entrant is none other than a Garden Gnome.A Garden Gnome is a symbol of Hope,Luck and Goodwill. It can be a fired stoneware pottery  that can last for generations in the garden and would continue to be an object for children's enjoyment.

Iowa State University's Reiman Gardens is now home to a 15-foot tall, 3,500-pound garden gnome, created by Andy and Connie Kautza in Wausau setting the record for the Largest Concrete Gnome. However the current record has smashed the previous one which was  set by a gnome named 'Chomsky' which measured only 13 ft,6 inches tall on the Kelder's Farm in front of the miniature Golf course,New York. The Largest Concrete Gnome beat the old record by 2 ft.
Reiman Gardens spent about $8,000 - all from privately raised funds  to have the Gnome built at the National Rock and Sculpture in wausau ,Wisconsin which specialises in  sculptures for amusement parks and zoos. The Reiman Gardens Director feels that with the installation of the Gnome the garden would recoup three times that sum from increased attendance.
The huge  Gnome makers  Andy and Connie Kautza the Largest Concrete Gnome travelled 400 miles to its new home in Ames,Iowa.Plans are to keep it intact  for several years.
The Largest Concrete Gnome measured 15 ft in height was set by Iowa State University at Reiman Gardens,Ames,Iowa,United States of America on April 12,2010.
