That is what you call making it big for a good cause. The St George Church and Primary School in Stockport did just that.Students and parishioners conceded the big event the world record way.
'The Coat of Many Colours' was made by St George Church and primary school to help the poor and the destitutes in Africa. They surely have a big heart for having created a huge jacket measuring 42 ft 6 inches(13 meters) by 18 ft 2 inches (5.5 meters) and weighing more than 364 lbs.The overall coat was made of more than 8,832 knitted squares .
The giant coat would sent to Africa from where it would be utilised to make blankets for the poverty striken masses to help them cope the tough weather conditions.
The coat titled as 'The coat of many colours'was a true example of how kids are made to imbibe good qualities such as being kind, caring and extending help to others. The present day culture should be to transform the mind of the youth to think on broader horizon like the global sphere unlike the way of me,my family,my place,my city,my state etc.The goal should be such that the any form of help should reach the deserving at the right time irrespective of who they are or they belong to whom. That stands the purpose of education to think from a wider angle and these virtues should be emphasised to students from the school itself.Only such grass root efforts would stand as sown seeds for a better and nourished tomorrow. This would stand the test of time and the world would see a more matured an Responsible global citizens.
St George Church and Primary school thought by creating 'The coat of many colours' with its huge size could well be a world record in itself and this would help in the good message gaining faster momentum and popularity worldwide.
The Largest Jacket measuring 13 meters by 5.5 meters was set by the students and parishioners of St George Primary School,in Stockport,United Kingdom on November 21,2011.
