Largest Golf Tee

A tee is a stand used to support a stationary ball so that the player can strike it.A standard golf tee is  usually 2.125" (two and one eighth inches = 5.4 cm) long. But the one you would come across now is just beyond your imagination.
The golf tee created by the Computer Aided Design Team at Bay College  measured  26-feet and 7 3/4-inches in height, featuring a shaft measuring out at 43 1/2 inches and a head which measured 35-inches across, weighing in at almost a ton-and setting the new world record for the Largest golf tee.The team  consisted of of (Team Leader Gary Moore Joe Whitens and Kevin Howard who were the proud creators of the giant golf tee.
The present Largest Golf Tee has smashed the record of the previous Largest Golf Tee which measured a paltry 11ft ,5 inches and was set in Poland.
The largest Golf Tee needed to be made of the same material as that of a normal tee.In order to suffice this criteria the golf tee was also manufactured from pine.
Further it had to be 80 times  larger in scale  than an average tee  along with a reasonable standard of workmanship also had to be demonstrated.
The 26 ft gigantic golf tee  is the central beam surrounded  by  hundreds of pine rings to create the outer shape of the base of the tee.The beam would add strength to the tee and also make   it easy  to build. The overall project took six months to complete from the design phase to the completion of the project.
VanAire in Gladstone  came in to assist the four man team in their endaevour to build the Largest Golf Tee.VanAire used a laser to cut the components of the tee.
The CAD team  are keen to sell off the gaint tee to  potential buyers and they are looking for a whopping price of  4000$.They intend to donate  3000$ for charity from  the sale proceeds of the tee.
The Largest Golf Tee was set by the CAD Team of Bay College at Escanaba Country Club,Miami,United States of America on August 5,2009.
