Longest String of Beads

Dollar one  was donated for every foot of beads to the Boys and Girls Clubs of Thurston County.Thanks to the idea of the creative director of Shipwreck Beads and the effort of 74 volunteers helped to string a 3469 ft 8 inches  beads in just 3 hours.The objective of stringing the beads was to raise funds for the county.So the world record certainly had a noble intention behind it.
They used pony beads, which are plastic beads with large holes to make it easier to string onto bead cord.Some vital stats in to the record were
The record attempt required an estimated 350,000 beads.
   • About 50 spools of bead cord were used.
   • Each spool had about 80 feet of cord.

A sum of 3470 dollars was  raised with the stringing of the beads and it proved to be a world record for the longest  string of beads.Also on hand to verify the proceedings were Lacey Police Cmdr. Dusty Pierpoint, former Lacey Mayor Virgil Clarkson and current Mayor Graeme Sackrison. Lori Flemm, Lacey’s Parks & Recreation director, measured the strand of beads.
The 74 volunteers took shifts to string the beads  and ended up stringing success by entering in to the world records.Shipwreck Beads were delighted to achieve the record and thanked  everyone who made it happen.
The Longest String of beads was set by Shipwreck Beads with the 74 volunteers at Lacey,Washington,United States of America on December 30,2009.
