A good centenary celebration by making in to world of records so that the special moment would never fade with the sands of time. What about the idea of paddling in sync along with 99 other paddlers in tandem for the occassion. This was what LL Bean employees also had in mind to commemorate the 100 years celebration.
100 L.L. Bean employees did that, paddling a 407-foot 7-inch long kayak, as part of the company's ongoing 100th anniversary celebration.L.L. Bean created the unique kayak from sections of Point 65N's Modular Kayak, which can be joined together, though usually to convert it into a tandem model. The Kayak measured 407.7 ft in length. Assembled from over 100 modular units and stretching over 400 feet, the World's Longest Modular Kayak took to the water along with 100 paddlers from all areas of the company during the L.L.Bean 2012 Paddlesports weekend. The outfitter brought the unique boat to its 31st Annual Paddlesports Weekend in Freeport, Maine last weekend, where dozens of employees loaded in and put it to use - we'll assume they didn't hit any rapids or try an Eskimo roll.
The Largest Modular Kayak measuring 407.7 meters in length was set by LLBean at Freeport,Maine,United States of America on June 28,2012.
