Largest Wallet

If you are a shopaholic witha  big wallet and sufficient money in it you would just love to keep shopping till you end up dropping the shopping bags.

So not a bad idea to have a big wallet in hand that can assure us of ample storage. But the Largest Wallet that we are talking was rather for a different purpose.It was  created as a unique way for raising funds for more than eleven non-profit partner organizations.

The Largest wallet measured 21 ft in length and 10 ft in width  was set by Big Skinny  at Harvard Square.Cambridge, Mass.-based walletiers Big Skinny, makers of the world's thinnest wallets that solve the top 5 wallet problems, created the giant wallet as a unique way to raise funds for more than eleven non-profit partner organizations such as the Harvard Square Homeless Shelter, PATS Kids, Salvation Army .The World’s Largest Wallet in crimson was on display in Harvard Square, Cambridge, MA. from November 29th to December 20th almost every day from approximately 11am to 7pm.

Some intricate fun fact about the Largest wallet revealed by Big Skinny are :

10.5 feet by 10 feet when closed, 10 feet tall and 21 feet long when open;

  -171 feet of the company's proprietary nylon micro-fiber were used;

  - 48 pounds of nylon micro-fiber;

  - total weight with special supportive endoskeleton and wheels is 128 pounds;

  - 20 feet of clear plastic used for the clear ID pocket and the additional pockets for informational material;

  - 80 feet of heavy metal 3/4 inch plumbing piping… used for the endo-skeleton structure which keeps the wallet upright;

  - 8 wheels make the wallet portable;

  -160 hours of labor went into just sewing the wallet, with two people working on it! Another 45 hours on the endoskeleton and assembly;

  - 90 feet of Velcro. 

The main purpose behind creating such a large wallet was to encourage others to open their wallets to help address the concerns of the  poor masses.

The current Largest Wallet set by Big Skinny happened to be arecord breaker too.The previous record of the Largest Wallet was set by a spanish company measuring just 6ft in height and weighed 450 pounds.The wallet was made using the skin of two cows and had a team of 13 craftsmen to make it in Ubrique,Spain.

A real thoughful approach by Big Skinny to make such a giant Wallet so they really had a big heart to help the needy.This act might have surely inspired people to donate funds to help the Underprivileged sections of the society.

You earn  your bread ,save some for the future  and at the same time keep aside to help the needy too. A few handy contributions  to a needy person can help change his life.
