Violin gets a Forbes entry


The master piece of 600  violins created by  renowned Italian  craftsman Antonio Stradivari has become the most sought after string musical instruments in the world.And one of them was owned by the much acclaimed celebrated English Poet Lord Bryon's  granddaughter Lady Anne Blunt for almost three decades.This legendary piece was pitched up for  auction sale by Nippon Foundation  for raising money for Tsunami Disaster Relief in London.The almost 300 years old exquisite string instrument previously owned by Lady Brunt is in the same condition as it was when it left the owner Brunt's hands.

The Stradivari  Violin was  also named after its last owner as 'Lady Brunt Violin' and was sold for $16 million .The bidder paid over  four times more than the previous auction record for a stradivari violin.The violin was one of the 21 string instruments held by the Nippon Foundation .The foundation loans musical instruments for free to top  class musicians from around the world.The proceeds of the sale of the centenaries old violin would go towards the   relief projects in Northern Japan.The foundation considers the musical instruments under its care as something irreplaceable.
Japan is hugely tormented by natural calamities like earthquake and Tsunamis.So the foundation overcame such feelings and sold the instrument to aid the people of the affected  area .The earthquake and Tsunami left more than 23000 persons dead or missing in Northern Japan.
The most expensive violin was set by Stadivarius  Violin auctioned by Nippon Foundation at london,United Kingdom on June 22,2011
