Longest Painting

A leading enterprise software company like Oracle have brushed their creative instincts  afresh to set a  world record.Oracle had announced that 650 employees from western and central  Europe have teamed to break the Largest painting record.Now this seems to be really strange coming from a famous software house.So in a way Oracle seems to be telling the world that they are not only a force to reckon with in the service software field but also  have a good sense of creativity.
The creativity bud in the Oracle Employee blossomed  as they staged the world record  mainly for raising funds for Leukaemia Research, a UK based charity devoted exclusively to funding research for leukaemia and related blood cancers.
 Money raised through the event will go towards the annual Kids Party. Leukaemia is the most common childhood cancer and thankfully research is working and more children are now surviving. Every year 150 leukaemia patients and their families are taken on an all expenses paid family holiday - paid for with funds raised through charity events held throughout the year. This year's event, held in September, will be hosted by Disneyland, Paris.The longest painting measured 120 meters in length.
And this good act could not have got better as it ended up breaking a previous record by 10 meters.So more goodies notching up the way for Oracle.

More than the pride of achieving a world record it was more important for the employees to have done  their bit  for the leukaemia Research.The Oracle team intended to raise 7500 euros  in support of the Kids party and also auction off  the painted canvases  to individually raise funds for the charity .The Kids party gives the kids suffering from the dreaded disease a chance and a reason to smile.It was a true large hearted gesture of the  enterprise software giant to come up with this generous idea and support the philantrophic work.
The concept is a double edged sword like a world record is used as a tool for a noble work.World record like popularity is a double edged sword because it can be used for doing good,spreading positive vibes across at the same time can be taken up for any wrong reasons too.
It is up to the participants to take it up ina  right way.
The Longest Painting was set by Oracle at DisneyLand,Paris,France on July 19,2007.
