Now the game of cards gets a larger than life look. Can you imagine playing your favourite cards game with huge sized cards apart from the usual sized ones.Just think if the card would be so big enough that it might require two persons to lift it and move it in the middle of the rack.
I think students in the design and engineering programme at Lynn Camp High School dreamt of making it big.Just like their dreams they made it big too by setting the world record itself for the largest pack of playing cards.
The students played the game of rummy with cards measuring 7 ft 4 inches tall by 4 ft wide.
The current record happened to be a record breaker as the previous Largest pack of playing cards measured 3ft 4inches*2ft 5 inches and was set by Dan Bliss in Milwaukee, Wisconsin, United States of America.
Almost two students had to carry a card from the deck in the middle of the gym to the competing hands at the other end.
The design students designed the huge cards using a computer software and even wrote programs to have them machined robotically .The art students got the cards painted.
This record attempt was actually a part of the school project to make the students learn skills with computer-aided design and programmable automation software and also make them understand team working skills.
The school constantly reinvents and comes out with fresh ideas that can help the students hone their Technical skills, problem solving skills and creative skills even further.
The Students worked for weeks on the card project. Some worked five or six hours a day, sometimes they used to sit after school to draw and paint the 52 giant cards.
The Largest Pack of Playing Cards measured 7ft 4inches in height and 4 ft in width was set by the students of the design and engineering programme at Lynn Camp School,Knox,United States of America on May 12,2011.
