The Premier institute for Technological education in India always remains to be  The Indian Institute of Technology (IIT).Cracking the JEE that is the  joint entrance exam of the Institute is the major stepping stone for a good stable career for the students aspiring to get an admission in to it.The college is the most sought after among youth and has a guaranteed placement schedule in reputed concerns world wide for students graduating out from  the institution. We all know this pretty well. The IITs having their branches in Kanpur,MuMBAI,Chennai etc have also one of their branches in Kharagpur in West Bengal as well. The reason we highlighted the Kharagpur facility of the IIT is because we have a good story to tell you.
The  Year 2011 saw Indian Institute of Technology Kharagpur entering their Diamond Jubilee.Usually IITians are considered geniuses and geta hero's welcome anywhere in the world. This time the students decided to celebrate their alma mater which can give them so much a remebrance of a lifetime.Diamond Jubilee indicates completion of 75 successful years of existence. What better way to celebrate this moment of a lifetime than entering in to the world of records.

The students created a wall calendar  measuring 260 ft*20 ft  and that turned out to be the Largest Wall Calendar. The students  were delighted as it not only became a world record but a record breaker. They had broken the record of the largest wall calendar  measuring 40 ft *120ft st by Manmohan Agarwal and Anuj Kucchal both from India.
The  current largest wall calendar  contained photos of  the IIT Kharagpur students in their respective date of birth.
The different parts of the massive flex material were printed separately but with a new technology, they were made into one single piece.
Professor-in-charge Prof. B.K. Mathur along with student team leader Avanish Kumar told that the calendar is a symbol of all the students being together as a family and the calendar being a milestone in the diamond jubilee celebration.
That proved to be a major event in the History of Kharagpur IIT and would remain to be  ever glowing stone of achievement for the  Institution.
The Largest wall calendar measuring  260 ft x 20 ft was  set by Indian Institute of Technology  Kharagpur students at Kharagpur,West Bengal,India on September 1,2011.
