Largest T Shirt

We all agree that T shirts are the best outfits to be worn for any casual occassion.Sportsmen sport a T shirt for comfort and now that has become like a trademark and goes so synonymous with sportwear.Famous sport wear companies worldwide make T shirts and endorse their logo and logos of other major sponsers   while stiching one for any official international or national sports matches.Having said this Gildan Active wear  has an exciting news to share.

Gildan Activewear Inc. (Gildan) is a marketer and vertically-integrated global manufacturer of basic, non-fashion apparel products for customers. It sells active wear products to screen print markets in North America, Europe and other international markets. Gildan is a supplier of active wear for the screen print channel in the United States and Canada, and also a supplier for this market in Europe and Mexico.

The company unveiled a giant T shirt  measuring 85.74 meters in length and 55.14 meters in breadth  thus setting the world record for the Largest T shirt.That was a mammoth task of creating a t shirt almost the size of a football field.The company might have in the past created thousands of T shirts for players for many sports events.But the one they created so big would have out numbered the others considering the size of the sports costume.By creating the T shirt which could well serve as a cloth line for a giant  has beaten  the record for the Largest T shirt  set in 2010.As the later  was set by Qatar Petroleum  and it measured a mere 72.2 meters by 48.7 meters.

The T-shirt was rolled out by approximately 100 volunteers. The fabric for the World's Largest T-shirt was produced at one of Gildan's state-of-the-art textile facilities in Honduras and final assembly took place in Utah.

Further the softer side of Gildan revealed the fact that the company intended to donate 12,000  T shirts to a charity initiative called to keep the music playing  which basically supports and encourages music education in Nashville area  schools.

The company was happy to break the record but also was satisfied that they were able to align themselves with the charity objective as the company's involvement in youth and education has always been  the key focus areas.

The Largest T shirt  measuring 85.74 meters in length and 55.14 meters in width was set by Gildan Active wear at the Country Music Association,Nashville,Tennessee,United States of America on July 15,2011.
