Swarovski has created a world record by creating the largest spiral shell encrusted with Swarovski gems. The piece in context is an interpretation of the spiritual symbol of India Infinite – the Maharudra spiral shell. Swarovski created it as a 5 feet 5 inches long piece with a periphery 3 feet 5 inches spiral circumference and decorated with 28,000 pieces of zirconia (gems) and thousands of Panchmukhi Rudraksha. A Swarovski Zirconia is one of the highest quality stone which strictly adheres to the exacting standards of the Gemological Institute of America for grading. Each stone features a microscopic ‘Swarovski Zirconia’ seal engraved by laser to ensure that it is of the highest quality.The shell was made in co-operation with Heera Zhaveraat (an Indian comapny). The shell is on display at the IIFJAS for the general public from February 10 to 13, 2012 at Hall 6, Bombay Exhibition Centre, Goregaon East, Mumbai.
