Most Santa Clause images on Sand

That is what we call unconventional  art.Art has new dimensions and an artist can convey his deepest feelings ,interest and concerns through his art work depiction.Have you heard of sand art? Then Sudarshan Patnaik has the answer to all your queries.Sudarshan Patnaik(DOB April 15,1977)born in Puri, nearly 60 km from Bhubaneswar, the capital city of Orissa. He is the inventor of sand art in India and has learned this form of art by himself without any guidance but only by practice and creative ideas. He started sculpting images on sand since the age of seven. He has won many national and international awards for his creative designs and has rentered the world of records too  for sculpting the tallest Santa Claus and most Santa Claus image built on sand.
His talent has won him many accolades and taken him places. He was the proud recipient of the People's Choice Prize in Moscow and even won the International sand contest held  in Marbella,Spain. Most of his sand sculptures  convey thought provoking good messages to the society.
The one to highlight among Patnaik's numerous sand work is the 100 sand sculptures of Santa Claus on the Puri Beach,Orissa that won him the big honour of a world record.
It took nearly 48 hours  to create 105 santas and christmas trees for Patnaik and his student team. The sculpture read  the message "Save Earth from Global Warming".Patnaik wanted this message to be taken seriously by the  future generations  and the society at large in such a way that it penetrates deep in to their minds. As children are the future generations and they  alone are capable of setting an example and be able to convince the elders about the harmful effects of global warming. The elders need to realise this and take steps so that they are able to conserve the nature for the future generations.
Children normally have a deep affinity with Santas and get delighted to hear Santa stories. They like Santas so much because of the wonderful gifts santa gives children an old myth which has been  taught by generations to their children. So the legacy and  positive impressions of santa  keep continuing with the passage of time. The popularity of Santa is growing by the year among children.
Hence two little girls from west Bengal were invited to inaugurate the sculpture at the beach on the Christmas eve.The record for the most number of santa images on the Puri beach,Orissa by Sudarshan Patnaik was achieved on December 25,2009.
His  work would never perish in the sands of time.
