Most Nativity Scenes on Display

A nativity scene takes its inspiration from the accounts of the birth of Jesus in the Gospels of Matthew and Luke.  Luke's narrative describes an angel announcing the birth of Jesus to shepherds who then visit the humble site where Jesus is found lying in a manger   a trough for cattle feed.  Matthew's narrative tells of "wise men   who follow a star to the house where Jesus dwelt, and indicates that the Magi found   Jesus some time later, less than two years after his birth, rather than on the exact day   Matthew's account does not mention the angels and shepherds, while Luke's narrative is silent on the Magi and the star. The Magi and the angels are often displayed in a nativity scene with the Holy Family and the shepherds although there is no scriptural basis for their presence.
So much   is said about the nativity scenes that the a Florida Church decided to gather as many nativity scenes as possible   in the same place. Pastor James Brown of the Oasis Church in Pembroke Pines said congregants gathered 2,150 Nativity scenes at the church Saturday in the form of figurines, tapestries, Christmas tree ornaments and crayon-drawn pictures.
The three counters and   a notary Public verified  the collections . And this turned out to be a record breaker for the church. As the previous record  for the most nativity scenes was set by an Italian collector  for having gathered  a mere 1,802 .The  Oasis  church  Pastor Brown was excited about setting the record and that too for the breaking the world record that too by a huge margin.
The displays come from all over the world, just as the church's 2,500 members hail from 84 countries. And that is the way the Oasis Church scripted its name in to the coveted world of records.
The  most Nativity scenes on display counted to  2,152 and was set by the South Florida Oasis Church at Pembroke Pines, Florida, United States of America on December 15,2010.
